Nooshin (Maryam) Mobasseri was born in 1977, just one year before the Islamic Revolution in Iran, in the vibrant city of Tehran. From a young age, her love for painting became her refuge, a way to process the tumultuous times she grew up in. The Iran-Iraq War and the aftermath of the revolution had a profound impact on her, and art became her voice—a way to express emotions that words could never capture.
In 1999, Nooshin made a bold decision. She left behind her nursing studies to follow her heart’s true calling: painting. She enrolled at Honar University (The Art University of Tehran) to pursue a formal education in the arts. After earning her Master’s degree in Art, she embarked on a journey that took her across borders—from Malaysia to Hong Kong, where the multicultural landscape deeply influenced her artistic vision. The diversity of Hong Kong, in particular, played a crucial role in shaping her distinctive style.
Settling in Hong Kong, Nooshin spent nearly seven years working in the design technology department at one of the city’s most prestigious bilingual schools. This experience sparked her passion for art education and inspired her to dedicate herself to nurturing young minds through creativity. In 2023, she moved to the United States, where she continues to teach art, drawing inspiration from her students. Working with children has enriched her understanding of visual communication, helping her connect with her audience in a meaningful and creative way.
